Select the family picture above to begin the journey back through my family's ancestry.
Here can be found information principally about our branch of the Orland family, its' roots 300 years ago as the Ireland family in Rutland and Leicestershire and its' genealogical journey through Winwick and West Haddon in Northamptonshire over two hundred years ago to Rugby and then Coventry in Warwickshire. The other three main branches of my ancestors are also included. These are the Crofts family from Crick in Northamptonshire and the Nunes-Martinez and Miller / Abrahams families from London.
Also find a
page of advice explaining how I discovered my own family ancestry.
You can discover a little more about me and other things that I get up to, in the Personal Pages.
The third picture will take you to my "Historic Coventry" website showing photographs and a brief history of our home town, including a photographic walk around the medieval city centre and a tour around the remains of the old city wall.
You can visit the cathedrals, compare photographs of the pre-war city to the places that you now recognise in "now & then" or find out how modern Coventry was redeveloped in the post-war changes section.
Map out the growth of Coventry town centre through the interactive street maps that I have constructed to demonstrate the evolution of our city from medieval times to the present day or see how the city boundary grew during that time.
You can now even climb aboard my time machine and take a virtual trip back a few decades to old Coventry.
